The Dejal Sound Library consists of about 66Mb of sounds (totalling over 2,000 sounds!), including a wide variety of sound effects, speech and other sounds from various movies, TV programmes, etc. Many of the sounds I digitised myself and aren╒t available elsewhere. In the Dejal Sound Library folder on my distribution disk you will find an up-to-date catalogue listing each and every sound, its size, origin, and other information. There are two versions of the catalogue: one sorted by sound name, the other sorted by disk name. Both files are plain TEXT, and as such may be read by any word processor or text editor, or imported into a database application. Each field of information in the files is separated by spaces, so you should view the files using a mono-spaced font (e.g. Courier or Monaco). The files were created with one of my Shareware programs, SndCataloguer¬.
I not only let you request whole disks from my collection, I will accept lists of individual sounds. You can pick and choose which sounds you want from the whole collection, and specify their names, locations, etc so I can find them, and I will fit as many of them onto the number of disks you request as possible (or as many as it takes to hold them all if you prefer). Naturally, this service cost a little more.
The Library is stored on two 44Mb SyQuest removable cartridges.
Here follows a list of the sound categories in the collection as of this writing, along with the number of sounds and amount of space taken currently. Note that when you order I will usually fill up any space left over on the disks with other related sounds. Unless otherwise specified, the source is the movie or TV series of the same name. Categories also include sequels, e.g. ╥2001╙ sounds includes ╥2010╙ sounds. I reserve my right to change the collection as I see fit without prior notice.

If you wish to order some of these sounds, simply specify which categories you want, how much of each you want (dividing it into 775k chunks to fit on floppies) and pay US$5 per disk for the first 2 disks (minimum) and US$3 per disk thereafter, to cover the disk(s), postage, and packaging; using the accompanying form. You can also request sounds from my collection when registering for my Shareware products, if you prefer. If you wish to select individual sounds from the collection, specify which sounds you want (either by listing them on a piece of paper or the back of the form, or by providing a printout of the catalogue with the sounds you want highlighted or marked) and pay US$8 per disk. No volume discount is available in this case, due to the amount of extra effort required on my part to find and copy each sound.
Another option for those of you who have SyQuest drives is to order the Library on one or two 44Mb SyQuest cartridges. If you want the collection on only one cart, note those categories listed above that are on the second cart; you can specify whether you want them included (by excluding something else), or not. To variations are available: either you provide one or two 44Mb SyQuest cartridges for me to use, or I can purchase one or two for you. The first variation costs US$200, the second US$300 for one or US$380 for two carts. Any queries can be directed to the addresses below (via e-mail preferably).
Most of the sounds in my Library are sampled at 11kHz, being a good compromise between quality and size, and allowing me to store twice as many sounds as I could at 22kHz. I have found that there is very little perceivable difference in quality between sounds sampled at 22kHz and 11kHz. When I sample sounds nowadays, though, I sample them at 22kHz with 3:1 compression, which gives about the same quality (or better) and takes less space than the same sound sampled at 11kHz, thanks to the compression.
Note: I make these sounds available to you on the understanding that I am not selling the sounds themselves, but rather simply charging for the disks, their labels, a bubblebag to protect them, international air mail to anywhere in the world, and a little compensation for the huge amount of time I have spent collecting, organising, cataloguing, optimising, and otherwise pampering these sounds. I am not claiming copyright on these sounds, so you are free to copy them, give them away, upload them to your local BBS, or anything else you like. If you happen to be the copyright owner of any of these sounds and object to me distributing them, please write to me and I will remove the offending sounds from the collection.
